Melanie Dorkus was a recurring character on Season One of Scream Queens. She was previously the President of Kappa Kappa Tau until she was forced to resign after being horribly burned by the Red Devil.
She is portrayed by Brianne Howey.
Biography
Pilot
Melanie was a student at Wallace University and the previous president at Kappa Kappa Tau. Melanie had a group of minions, which Chanel Oberlin was a part of, and was preparing for her minions to spray tan her one day. Chanel messed up Melanie's dry cleaning order and she got mad. She started to tell Chanel how she could never be a KKT president because of her looks and sensitivity. She ordered Chanel to leave. Her minions began using the spray tan and it suddenly begins burning and tearing her skin on her stomach area, causing Melanie to scream in utter pain. She grips a shower curtain from behind as she collapses onto the ground, coughing up foam. Melanie's minions scream in horror and leave the room, leaving a burnt Melanie lying helplessly on the ground. Soon, the Red Devil enters the room. Melanie sees the Red Devil and screams.
Dean Munsch refers to it as violent assault and it is mentioned that the tanning company settled it with her and many people believe Chanel was the one who swapped her spray tan.
Hell Week
Melanie was mentioned by Zayday when members of Kappa Kappa Tau were eating their dinner.
Thanksgiving
Melanie was mentioned by Dean Munsch and it was revealed that the day of her attack was March 25th and Grace was visiting Kappa during that time and was seen running away shortly after the attack, causing suspicion that Chanel was the Red Devil.
Dorkus
Chanel goes to apologize to Melanie to make herself look good. Melanie, disfigured, is compared to fictional serial killers like Freddy Krueger and the Toxic Avenger by Chanel and Chanel #3, due to the horrible scars on her face and body. She admits that she had over 9 surgeries and still believes that Chanel is the one responsible for her disfigurement. Chanel then tries to murder her with a pair of scissors, thinking that she is the Red Devil. Luckily, Grace and Zayday rush into Melanie's house just in time to stop Chanel and reveal who the true killer is.
